Welcome to the Hove Embroidery Club
The Brighton & Hove Embroidery Club is a friendly social stitching group for people who already know the basics of hand embroidery and want to stitch more, learn new stitches, and enjoy creative company. Each month, Stephie Ann hosts an evening of relaxed stitching — starting with a short demo, followed by open stitching time, conversation, experimentation, and gentle guidance. This is a place to build confidence, connect with makers, and enjoy the process.

What to Expect
Cur monthly stitch evenings are simple, social, and supportive:
- When: First Wednesday of every month, 7:00–9:00pm
- Where: StephieAnn Studio, 87 Portland Road, Hove, BN3 5DP
- Group Size: Small and friendly (3-9)
Each session begins with a short stitch demo you can join or just watch, then you’re free to work on your own project, experiment with new ideas, ask questions, or just chat with other stitchers.
After every session, stitch demo videos are shared in our WhatsApp community and added to a Google Drive folder — so you can revisit what you learned anytime.
Who It’s For
This hand embroidery club is designed for people who already have a little hand embroidery experience and would like a relaxed, social space to keep stitching, learning, and building confidence.
We highly recommend attending the StephieAnn Introduction to Embroidery workshop before joining the club. These introductory workshops run 2–4 times a year (or on request) and are a lovely way to learn the foundations.
Following the Introduction to Embroidery workshop, participants are welcome to join the first club session half price.
If you haven’t attended Stephie’s Introduction workshop, you’re still welcome to join. New members just need a basic understanding of hand embroidery and should be comfortable completing the following stitches:
- Back stitch
- Chain stitch
- A stitch from the knot family (such as French or bullion knots)
We don’t expect perfection at all — just familiarity so you can get the most out of stitching together.
What’s Included
Your session price gives you more than just time to stitch:
- 2-hour guided session in a welcoming studio
- Use of Stephie’s embroidery threads & tools
- Scrap fabric for experimentation
- Disolvable fabric for tracing designs
- Studio equipment (hoops, iron, sewing machine, printer)
- A treasure trove of materials (buttons, beads, ribbons, threads)
- Tea & coffee
- Access to our WhatsApp community & stitch demo video archive
If you don’t have a project or materials yet — no problem! You’ll be set up with fabric and supplies on the night.
Pricing
£19 per session
£50 for a block of 3 sessions
Payment is via bank transfer ahead of the session so evenings stay relaxed and focused on stitching.
Following a StephieAnn Introduction to Embroidery workshop, participants are welcome to join the first club session half price.

Club members join a supportive WhatsApp group where people:
- Share work-in-progress
- Ask questions outside sessions
- Share inspiration
- Confirm attendance with a 👍 each month
Plus, videos of all the monthly demos are added to Google Drive so your learning builds over time.
